Welcome to the VolksChoice Help Center. Explore step-by-step guides on how to make the most of the features and options available on this website.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to My Families Page from the right-side menu.
- Click on the "Create a New Family" button under the "My Families" section.
- Fill in the required details:
- Family Name: Enter a name for your family.
- Family Description: Provide a brief description of your family.
- Click on the Create Family button.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to My Families Page from the right-side menu.
- Click on the "Edit" button under the Family you want to edit.
- Make required corrections in:
- Family Name: Update the name of your family.
- Family Description: Update the description of your family.
- Click on the Update button to save your changes.
- Once you create a new family, it will be listed under the My Families page, which can be accessed from the right-side menu.
- Click on the View/Add Members button for the selected family.
- If no members have been added yet, you'll see Total Family Members: 0 and a message reading "Things to consider while creating your family tree:" to give you an idea of how VolksChoice works.
- Click on "Add First Member to {Family Name}" Button.
- Choose a photo for the first member. It should be a square photo under 2MB in size.
- Enter the Full Name of the member (this is the only mandatory field).
- Fill in any other available details as needed.
- Click on the Submit First Member to Family button.
Be Cautious! A small mistake while adding or changing the Super Admin or Admin can grant access to your family data to a potential fraudster. Therefore, please consider and double-check before adding or editing a Super Admin or Admin!
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to My Families Page from the right-side menu.
- Under the Manage Admins section, in the Current Family Admins section:
- All current admins will be listed.
- There are two types of admins: Super Admin and Admin.
- You cannot remove the Super Admin.
- If there is more than one Admin, a Remove button will be shown next to their name. Click this button to remove any Admin.
- To change the Super Admin:
- Enter the email ID of a registered user in the form under the Change Super Admin section.
- Click on "Update Super Admin" Button.
- The Super Admin will be changed to the newly entered user.
- To add a new Admin:
- Enter the email ID of a registered user in the form under the Add New Family Admin section.
- Click on "Add Admin" Button.
- The new admin will be added to the family.
Note: To change the Super Admin or add a new Admin, the user must be registered on VolksChoice with their email ID.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to My Families Page from the right-side menu.
- Click on the "Family Diary" button under the family you want to view.
- Alternatively, you can go to the View/Add Family Members page and click on the "Family Diary" button there.
- The Family Diary will open, showing all the events, updates, and activities related to your family.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to the Family Diary page of the family where you are an admin and wish to add a new diary entry.
- Once on the Family Diary page, click on the "Add New Diary Entry" button.
- A form will appear with the following fields:
- Title: Enter a title for your diary entry.
- Date of Occurrence: Enter the date on which the event occurred.
- Content: Provide the details or description of the event.
- After filling out the form, click the "Save Entry" button to save the new diary entry.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to the Family Diary page of the family where you are an admin and wish to manage the diary entries.
- On the Family Diary page, you will see a list of all the diary entries.
- If you are an admin, each diary entry will have Edit and Delete buttons:
- Edit: Clicking the Edit button will open a form with the existing title, date of occurrence, and content prefilled in the input fields. You can modify these fields and click the "Update Entry" button to update the entry.
- Delete: Clicking the Delete button will remove the diary entry permanently. Be cautious as this action cannot be undone.
- Make any necessary changes and save the entry by clicking the "Update Entry" button, or delete it by clicking the "Delete" button.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to the Dashboard page from the right-side menu.
- Click on the "Edit Account Details / Change Password" option.
- Under the Edit Account Details section, you can modify your name or email address as needed.
- If changing your email, make sure the new email ID is not associated with any other account yet.
- After making your changes, click the "Save Changes" button to save your updated information.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to the Dashboard page from the right-side menu.
- Click on the "Edit Account Details / Change Password" option.
- Under the Change Password section, you will find fields for Add New Password and Confirm Password.
- Enter a new password in both the Add New Password and Confirm Password fields. Ensure both passwords match.
- Click the "Change Password" button to update your password.
- Go to My Families page, which can be accessed from the right-side menu.
- Click on the View/Add Members button for the family you want top share.
- Below the family description, you will see the Share button in the following style:
- Click on the Share button, and a new popup will open based on your device.
- Choose the app you want to share your family tree with and follow the app's steps to complete the sharing process.
- Navigate to the family tree you want to download.
- Click the Download PDF button.
- Choose the layout (with or without indentation), and click Download. Note: Be cautious when selecting indentation, as it may cause the list structure to break after 4 or 5 generations.
- Once the PDF is ready, save the file to your device.
- Login to your VolksChoice account.
- Go to the Dashboard page from the right-side menu.
- Click on the "Permanently Close My Account" button.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear asking if you're sure about permanently deleting your account.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking the Confirm button in the pop-up.
- Note: You cannot delete your account if you are the super admin of any family tree.
